Getting Your Slideshow Right

Always check with the venue regarding their audio visual specifications and what they offer. A slide show can be a great way to engage your guests and add a special touch to the night. And speeches are always more interesting with a visual presentation. 

Go for ease and simplicity. I have seen too many parties and speeches crash because they’ve attempted something too clever or have brought along presentations in the wrong format. Go simple. Avoid laptops if possible unless you know exactly what you’re doing - Laptops can be fraught with problems and complications. Choose digital photos burnt onto CDs or presentations burnt in DVD format and test them on your DVD player at home

Don’t forget to check if there are associated charges for use of AV equipment by the venue. Negotiate this at your time of booking if possible. You don’t want an unexpected bill for AV at the end of your evening.
