Make sure you ask ALL your questions and read all the Terms & Conditions before you book in your event - There is nothing worse than getting two weeks out from your party, only to find that the venue you have booked cannot accommodate all your guests, doesn’t allow you to bring your own DJ and doesn’t cater for your gluten free food requirements or your guest’s nut allergy.

It is important to know exactly what you want to do for your function before you book, because if you don’t know what you want at the time of booking, how are you going to know which questions to ask?

Top 5 important things to consider before booking a function venue:

Food - Do you want to purchase food from the venue, provide your own catering or do you want to have no food at all?

Bar Tab - Do you want to place one, or would you prefer to have your guests purchase their own drinks?

Music - Do you want to have a DJ or just plug in an Ipod or use some CD”s?

Exclusivity& privacy - Do you want to book a section of a venue (share the rest of the venue and bar with other guests) have partial exclusivity (the venues is yours for a certain time, then the venue opens to the public) full exclusivity (the venue is yours for the duration of your function)?

Guest list – Think about how many people you want to invite compared to how many people may actually be able to attend; generally at least 10% of guests will not be able to attend.
